We are experiencing difficult times with natural disasters and pandemics plaguing our nation. We have been getting several messages regarding what items should be gathered. You might not have access to food, water, and electricity for days, or even weeks. By taking some time now to store emergency supplies you can provide for your entire family. We have been attending CERT training (community emergency response training) prior to the pandemic we created a list based on our training that will provide the essential items needed to help our communities through this crisis.
Having an ample supply of clean water is a top priority not only in wilderness survival but urban survival based on the “Rule of 3s.”
3 Minutes without air
3 Hours in cold/hot hypothermia/hyperthermia can take place
3 Days without water
3 Weeks w/o water
These basics human survival needs must be met or medical complications can occur and possibly lead to death.
If supplies run low, never ration water. Drink the amount you need daily and try to find more tomorrow. You can minimize the amount of water your body needs by reducing activity daily.
